SEPTEMBER 2005

Engineers and Technical Professionals

Over the last week we've all been assaulted with the horrific pictures and stories that have come out of the Hurricane Katrina disaster. It's been particularly painful for me to watch as I've talked with and worked with so many of you who are now reading this who actually witnessed this first-hand. Although I've gotten numerous emails and calls from folks out there, there are still many I haven't heard from and don't know how to reach. Please drop me an email or post to my blog and let me know how you're doing, what your plans are, and how we can be of help - whether it's finding shelter for your families so you can stay in the area or finding alternative opportunities. From what I hear from our clients in the area, the rebuilding process will be commencing as soon as possible and they sincerely hope that there will be ample staff available in the area for the task at hand.

Whitaker, like many other companies out there, is doing our part with both financial and volunteer contributions to support the rescue and rebuilding efforts. The Katrina catastrophe continues and it's important that our support for the victims continue also. A number of you have been very generous with your time and money so far. Keep it up. It could take months (years in many cases) for this situation to normalize. Anything you can do to contribute will be extremely important as the days and months go by. In addition to our monthly open positions list, I'm also attaching a list of just a few of the very worthy associations and charities that have been helping with the efforts on the Gulf Coast. Please help however you can.
