Engineers and Technical Professionals

As some of you know, I was out of the office last week attending the annual conference for our national professional association - NAPS (www.recruitinglife.com). NAPS is the trade association that represents staffing industry professionals in education, legislation and networking across in the US and abroad.  NAPS is the group that sponsors our professional certification designation programs (CPC and CTS) that I've mentioned to you in previous newsletters.  As with most national conferences, we offered continuing education certifications through speakers, roundtables and panels covering a wide range of topics germane to the practices of our business, the legislation that governs it, and the technology that supports it.  This year's conference (with over 700 attendees) also offered some first-time-ever events including the introductory class for our newest professional certification program: Certified Retention Specialist.  I'm proud to serve on the Board of Directors for NAPS and am "in the queue" to be our National President in the next couple of years.  Additionally, as a speaker/trainer for our industry, I lead two training sessions for our attendees.

Although attending the conference takes me away from my day-to-day staffing activities, I believe it's important to continue to stay up to speed on the latest information available to our industry.  Additionally, it offers me an opportunity to continue to learn and grow personally and professionally.  Whitaker has always been extremely supportive of continuing education for all of our staff across all of our divisions.  We believe that it's just another value-add that allows us to offer to you the most professional staffing service available in our industry.  We hope you agree!
