Dear Santa:
Well it's time for my annual Christmas wish list and I've decided that in past years you've gotten off way too easy. Heck anyone can raid the shelves at Wal-Mart or Target and come up with toys and dolls and such. And a tech-savvy guy like you could even raid Monster or Career Builder and come up with a few engineers to stuff in stockings here and there. So in coming up with my wish list this year I thought I'd come up with some stuff that we really need but that's a LOT more challenging. So if you could drop these off at the Whitaker office in Colorado on your way through town I'd sure appreciate it!
1 - A bagful of sign-on bonuses so my candidates can afford to move for less-than-usual increases that seem so prevalent these days.
2 - A very hefty sprinkling of project dollars to spread out among all of my refining clients so they can finally finish those postponed process improvement projects.
3 - Lots of bridge loan coupons that I can distribute to all of those candidates who'd love to move but won't because they're afraid they won't be able to sell their homes.
4 - Sprinkle some brain dust on all of the politicians so that they'll fund LOTS of new refinery and alternative energy plants that can only be staffed with experienced engineers!
5 - Can you please see to it that refinery margins get back up to those REALLY high levels that we love and still find a way to let us have gasoline at around $2.00/gallon?
6 - A few weeks of no political rhetoric about bailouts or recession or gloom and doom mentality so that we can actually make the holiday season feel like it's lasting just a little bit longer.
7 - And oh yeah, if it's not too much trouble, a little bit of "whirled peas" would be pretty nice too! J
Yours very truly,
Carol Wenom CPC/CTS
