APRIL 2009 newsletter

Engineers and Technical Professionals

Although, the exact origin of April Fool’s Day is uncertain, there is one commonly accepted theory. April Fool’s Day got it’s start when France adopted the Gregorian Calendar in 1582. News traveled slowly and legend has it that some folks, out of ignorance, stubbornness, or both, continued to ring in the New Year on April 1 and were made the butt of jokes and pranks on account of their foolishness. This became an annual tradition, which ultimately spread throughout Europe.

Of course April Fool’s Day has evolved over the years to include practical jokes, pranks, and even some national advertising schemes, but one thing remains constant - we all enjoy a good laugh with our friends and family and maybe at the expense of others too!

Don’t be fooled with what you hear on the news…these jobs really do exist!

A little comic relief thanks to Dilbert for the Engineers and those you know:
